DRF WELCOMES MONEY ADVICE SERVICE CONSULTATION ON QUALITY IN DEBT ADVICE
Debt Resolution Forum, the monitoring, quality and training body for fee-charging debt resolution companies, welcomed today’s launch (Wednesday December 19) of a consultation into proposed standards and quality assurance for debt advice.
“We are pleased to have been invited to take part in this consultation, but concerned that the proposals may not go far enough.” Commented DRF chairman David Mond.
“DRF hopes to influence the Money Advice Service to create standards that measure outcomes achieved for clients more closely and which help to create a level playing field for free-to-client and fee-paying debt solutions and advice. We hope our qualification, the Certificate in Debt Resolution, which will be enhanced in 2013, will provide an appropriate standard for the first three levels of individual attainment highlighted in the consultation”.
